Netball's Back - Round 1 - Summer 2024!

30 Jan by Willi Tigers Netball Club (Team App)

Hello Tigers families,

Welcome back to netball!

We trust you all had a great summer.

Attached is the fixture for round 1 – note this is round one of grading.

Please review the rule changes that will be introduced by ANA this season – we have been posting these on teamApp. As mentioned below, there are MANY changes so please remember it will take umpires, coaches and players a few weeks to fully understand. No abuse of umpires will be tolerated by Willi Tigers.

If you have any issues on game day, firstly have the team manager approach an umpire supervisor for support. It is always best to have any issues sorted on the spot rather than after the game. Any matter not settled on game day can be raised via email as a grievance – email to admin@willitigers.com.au so it can be submitted on your behalf by the Club. Any grievances need to be sent to ANA within 48 hours of game time.

Secondly, you can speak with Tara, Miah or myself on game day.

Good luck for this week and all season!

Go Tigers!

See message from ANA:
As you will see we have a very full contingent of teams which endorses the fact of the need for all 12 courts we have at our facility.

Just a reminder about the ‘Grading Rounds’ ruling:
All game stats will be recorded for the 3 rounds of grading.

“Borrowed” or ‘fill-in” players can be used – Team Name & Age Group to be noted on the scoresheet.
Keep in mind that once a player has played their 3rd game up (either as a borrowed or fill in) they will automatically be moved up to the next highest grade they are used in.

Players cannot be transferred from one team to another during grading.

The introduction of the new game Rules that were released at the end of 2023 – beginning of 2024.
ANA will be introducing all the new rules apart from ‘Tactical Changes/rolling subs” – this rule will be discussed at the next Delegates Meeting on 26/2/24.

It will take time for all Umpires/Coaches/Players/Parents to fully understand the new rules (there were a few) so we ask that ALL participants/patrons keep this in mind. We will not tolerate abuse of our umpires and officials and expect all Clubs to have reinforced this to their members.

The Altona Sports Centre will be playing the rules videos on the screens during our competition time to assist everyone with a clear understanding.
