CLUB PHILOSOPHY

Willi Tigers Netball Club Philosophy

Is based on the principles of providing a CLUB environment where participation, inclusiveness, player development and enjoyment are paramount to our success.

Willi Tigers Netball Club Inc.'s club philosophy follows the principles set out in Netball Victoria's Junior Development Policy. The specific objectives and principles we hold highest are available from the club, or in the documents section of this website.

Our success is not measured solely by winning. More importantly our success is measured by

  • personal development and growth
  • development of individual and team netball skills
  • development of team spirit
  • contribution to the community
  • acceptance of team mates and working as a cohesive team
  • continuing participation in netball
  • acceptance of club decisions

Our goals are to:

Provide opportunities for players to fulfil their potential:

·Within the club - By encouraging members to accept the opportunities to develop skills in netball including playing, coaching and/or umpiring

·Outside the club - This includes encouraging players to try out for representative teams and State League teams and encourage players to participate in player development clinics and State League Junior Development.

Provide positive adolescent role models

Encourage personal development of young members

Strategies include:

  • Encouraging members to take on leadership roles
  • Giving players the opportunity to make new friends
  • Encouraging players to be accepting of all team members
  • Developing resilience
  • Learning the value of commitment and responsibility to a team and the club

Provide quality coaching

·All coaches are under the supervision of the Coaching Co-ordinator

·All coaches are encouraged to complete Orientation to Coaching Workshops, plus participate in other coach education seminars and workshops.

  • The club has a wide range of coaching resources which are available to all coaches.
  • All coaches are encouraged to complete Orientation to Coaching Workshops, plus participate in other coach education seminars and workshops.
